Notes
It is difficult to find small, authentic editions of the music of the Spaniard Gaspar Sanz, a 17th century vihuelist. One must usually buy a scholarly compendium of all of his music or an 'arranged' collection that strays somewhat from the original music. Here are a few pieces just as they appear in his manuscript (transcribed only). The simple charm of Sanz' music is maintained and therefore they remain accessible to guitarists of modest ability; the ornaments are from Sanz' manuscript.
